A Snowy Egret hunts among the reeds at Woodruff NWR.
Two Snowy Egrets look for food at Woodruff while a Common Moorhen looks on. Notice the crests they have raised on their heads. This is not often seen.
Notice the identifying marks on this Snowy Egret - black bill, yellow lores, and greenish legs.
Some of these Snowy Egrets are changing into their breeding colors. Note the long feathers and black legs of the one on the left.
Here the Snowy Egrets have mingled with White Ibis. The Ibis have reddish orange bills and legs.
