Bluebirds

Mick Hardy sent us the pictures on this page. They are of a family of Bluebirds that have fledged from a birdhouse that Mick provided for them. The fledglings are busy exploring the world and finding out where to eat and drink.

Finding food is perhaps the most important thing to learn and one young fledgling has just figured out where daddy gets those delicious worms.

Now it's the kids turn to get their own breakfast, and it doesn't take them long. In fact, it's getting pretty crowded in here.

Nothing's perfect and this idyllic life has just been disturbed by a Robin that Mick calls "the bully." Too big to get into the feeder, he is waiting for one of the baby Bluebirds to emerge with a worm so he can steal it.

After all the kids have eaten, daddy gets a turn at breakfast.
