Canada Geese

A family of Canada Geese explores the wetlands. These goslings have grown considerably but still have their down instead of feathers.

Here is the whole extended family. The mother is leading her goslings, followed by the ever-alert father. Their "nanny" and other members of the family, possibly siblings from last year, cruise along side.

This hybrid goose was left to fend for itself. It is a mix of Canada and domestic geese. Its distinctive marks makes it easy to identify. It has been a resident of the Killbuck valley for at least five years.

Meanwhile, a couple of turtles enjoy the warmth of the sun while whispering sweet nothings to each other.
