Orioles I

A juvenile Baltimore Oriole begins his exploration of the world near the Killbuck Wetlands. It's probably not far from the nest, but we were not able to locate the nest.

Mick Hardy sent us this picture, and those that follow on this page. He said of this little female, "The female oriole hit the picture window and was stunned. I picked her up and let her sit on my hand for a few minutes and then put her on the feeder, gave her some water with a dropper, and left her alone. The male stayed around and she disappeared about half an hour later."

This beautiful female was photographed in perfect light by Mick.

A male Baltimore Oriole is enjoying a bath.

Thanks to Mick and Connie Hardy for these three pictures.
