A female Ruby-throated Hummingbird hovers while selecting the best blossom for a sip of nectar.
Another female approaches the hummingbird feeder. Hummingbirds' wings beat so fast that they can be frozen only by cameras equipped with very fast strobe lights. The camera was quick enough to catch the bird's tail forked as it maneuvers to the feeder, above.
This female zooms about a patch of honeysuckle blossoms, looking for just the right one.
