Killbuck Creek

Killbuck Creek rises about five miles north of Muncie, Indiana, and drains much of northern Delaware and eastern Madison Counties. It wanders for about 25 miles through farm lands, wood lots, and wetlands before joining the White River in Anderson. As with most rural creeks, its banks are lined with trees and it is home to many kinds of wildlife including muskrat, beaver, deer, fish, frogs, and birds. The sections shown in these pictures are within the city limits of Anderson, within a mile of the mouth of the creek. Much of this stretch is bordered on one or both sides by Shadyside Park and is often separated from the Shadyside Lakes by a narrow, tree-lined dike, topped by a foot path.
