HARLEM,
Montana -- Karen S. Mummey, 50, a bar owner and operator, died Monday in a car
accident one mile north of Harlem.
Her
funeral is 1 p.m. Saturday at American Lutheran Church, with burial in Harlem
Cemetery. Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors
include sisters Annie Mummey of Bozeman and Janice Gilham of Harlem; brothers
Larry Mummey of Billings, Leslie Mummey and Ronald Mummey both of Boise, Idaho,
and Roger Mummey of Sparks, Nev.
Additional
survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.
Karen
was born Jan. 30, 1952, in Havre, Mont. She graduated from Harlem High School
and attended Montana State University at Bozeman for two and a half years.
She
worked for the Harlem Police Department for 15 years, managed Kennedy's Bar and
later purchased the bar from her father in 1990.
Karen
enjoyed collecting bells and cats, and was involved in the editing and
gathering of information for the publication of "Thunderstorms and
Tumbleweeds" for eastern Blaine County.
She
was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Mildred Mummey.
Memorials
are suggested to the American Lutheran Church in Harlem.
Karen was generous to
family, especially her nieces and nephews and will be dearly missed.
