Winter Show

Muncie, Indiana

January 11-13, 2002

These are pictures of the exhibition floor Sunday, January 13, at the Winter Show of the Midwest Antique Fruit Jar and Bottle Club at the New Horizon Convention Center in Muncie, Indiana. Pictures and report were published in the February issue of Glass Chatter by the Midwest Antique Fruit Jar and Bottle Club.

The “People’s Choice” award went to this display by Russ Crupe, and it also shared the “Dealer’s Choice” award. Notice the clear glass shelves which add so much to this colorful display.

Mike Jordan’s display of Civil War Era Fruit Jars shared the “Dealer’s Choice” award. This was a striking display of jars made before and during the Civil War.

Phil Robinson’s display of Jar Manufacturing Equipment won the “Most Educational” award. Phil Robinson presented this display of molds, plungers, and other equipment used in the manufacture of glass jars. Included were several molds together with jars and salt shakers made using those molds. Also included were whimsies blown at a Wheaton Expo using a Ball mold.

June Lowry made this clever display called “ABC’s of Pint Fruit Jars.”

Ray King presented “Groups of 1,3,5, and 7.”

Glennie Burkett showed her “Evening in Paris” collection, with the help from some friendly bears.

Jean Harbron displayed early “Ball Freezer Jars” with their cartons, lids, accessories, and advertising brochures. This was a historical perspective on Ball Freezer Jars.

This is Norm Barnett’s display of “Original Closures”.

“Corkers” were displayed by Tom Schumm.
