Summer Show

Muncie, Indiana

July 8 – 10, 2005

These are pictures of the exhibition floor Sunday, July 10, 2005, at the Summer Show of the Midwest Antique Fruit Jar and Bottle Club at the Horizon Convention Center in Muncie, Indiana. Pictures and report were published in the August issue of Glass Chatter by the Midwest Antique Fruit Jar and Bottle Club.

Awards

Awards were presented to the exhibitors whose displays were voted the best in several categories. 

Norm Barnett won the Dealers Choice Award for his display on Original Closures.

Dick Cole (right) presents the People’s Choice Award to Joe Coulson for his display “Singing the Blue Book Blues”.

Joe Coulson also received the Most Educational Award.

Joe Coulson, John Elwood, and Dick Cole designed the club display about color enhanced jars. The club display was not eligible for an award, but this was a very educational display, and we thank these members for their hard work on behalf of the club and the fruit jar hobby.

Displays

Joe Coulson’s display Singing the Blue Book Blues won the “People’s Choice” and “Most Educational” awards.

June Lowry’s display of Sealfast Jars. June showed nine Sealfast jars, some of which are very scarce.

Glennie Burkett’s display of Evening in Paris. Glennie Burkett added her favorite bears to this display of Evening in Paris jars.

Dave Rittenhouse showed his Go-With Items. Dave had many interesting accessories related to the fruit jar hobby in his display of Go-with Items.

Jean Harbron and Wanda Yoder made a display of blue jars titled January in July. Jean Harbron and Wanda Yoder used clear lights and white velvet to highlight the colors of their blue fruit jars from many different manufacturers.

Norman Barnett showed his Original Closures collection which one the “Dealers Choice” award.

John Elwood, Joe Coulson, and Dick Cole put together this display of Color Enhanced Jars. It featured jars whose colors have been altered by sunlight or radiation.

Janet Lee, Margaret Shaw, Jean Harbron, Pat Van Dyke, Deena Caniff, Meredith Robinson, and Dick Cole put together the colorful Jelly Jammers Display.

Richard Sorensen presented a display of Ball Salt and Pepper Shakers.

Mike Mosier showed some hard-to-find Fruit Jar Go-Withs.
