These are pictures of the exhibition floor Sunday, July 13, 2008, at the Summer Show of the Midwest Antique Fruit Jar and Bottle Club at the Horizon Convention Center in Muncie, Indiana. Fruit Jar Get-Together

The following pictures were taken Saturday, July 12, 2008, at the Fruit Jar Get-Together and Auction at the Signature Inn, Muncie.

The group listens with interest as jars are described.

Joe Coulson showed an actual photo of John L. Mason, whose famous patent for a jar closure was issued on November 30, 1858.

Awards were presented to the exhibitors whose displays were voted the best in several categories. 

Wayne and June Lowry took both the Dealer’s Choice award and the People’s Choice award with their 45+ Rare Pints display.

Joe Coulson received the Most Educational Award for his Buffalo Jars display.


Dick Cole brought display Things I Found When I Cleaned My Closet.

Jean Harbron showed a display titled McDonnell Patent July 14, 1908.

Wayne & June Lowry won both the Dealer’s Choice and the People’s Choice awards with 45+ Rare Pints.

Dave Rittenhouse displayed Odd Closure Pints.

Mike Keith showed a variety of Wax Sealers.

Joe Coulson won the Most Educational Award with Buffalo Jars.

Janet Lee display showed Jamming Through the Years.

Junne Barnett showed photos and posters from early fruit jar times.
