Greetings fellow collectors,
May is finally here, and with it, the undeniable excitement that comes with the change of seasons. There is something truly special about this time of year for those of us in the hobby. As the weather warms up and the days grow longer, it feels like the perfect time to get out, hit the road, and enjoy the many shows we have on the horizon. There is nothing quite like the thrill of the hunt, whether you are scouring for that elusive fruit jar, looking to add to your collection, or simply enjoying the history that our club works so hard to preserve.
This month, I am particularly looking forward to the Cambridge City Show. While this show is always a highlight of our calendar, it will carry a special significance this year. We will be coming together to celebrate the life and contributions of our dear friend and fellow club member, Marty Troxell. Marty was a cornerstone of our community, and I know many of us are eager to honor the passion he brought to this hobby and the lasting impact he had on all of us.
Beyond the glass and the history, the true heart of the Midwest Antique Fruit Jar and Bottle Club is the people. The upcoming shows are a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with old friends and share stories, but I am equally excited about the chance to welcome new faces. If you know someone who has been curious about our hobby, please encourage them to join us. Growing our community is how we ensure that our shared history continues to thrive.
I look forward to seeing all of you at the upcoming shows. Until then, I hope your shelves stay full and your glass stays shiny.
Matt
