Greetings, Fellow Collectors!
As we kick off a new year, I find myself looking forward to the months ahead with genuine excitement. There is a unique kind of magic in our hobby—the thrill of the hunt, the “clink” of a lucky find, and the stories etched into every piece of glass we recover. I truly look forward to hearing about your latest acquisitions and sharing in the joy that these fabulous finds bring to all of us.
It’s an incredible time to be a collector. We are witnessing a remarkable surge in the general jar and bottle collecting community. Whether it’s a rare colored fruit jar or a humble local drugstore bottle, more people are discovering the historical value and aesthetic beauty of antique glass. This growth brings fresh energy, new perspectives, and a new generation collectors who ensure our passion stays vibrant for years to come.
While the internet has made it easier to find glass, it can’t replace the heart of this hobby: the Club.
Clubs like ours are the true backbone of the hobby. Most importantly, local clubs are the foundation of the shows we all love. Without the dedication of club members—the volunteers who organize, promote, and coordinate —these shows simply wouldn’t exist. They are the primary stage where we connect, learn, and keep the marketplace alive.
Looking Ahead
Thank you for your continued dedication to the Midwest Antique Fruit Jar and Bottle Club. Your participation is what makes this community feel like family. Let’s make this a year of great discoveries, shared knowledge, and, of course, plenty of sparkling glass.
Happy Hunting,
Matt
