Greetings
Since my last message, we’ve had the opportunity to take in two more shows, both of these being totally different but still tied to our hobby.
We went to the National Insulator Association convention in Elkhart, IN, at the end of June. We personally don’t collect insulators, even though there are some beautiful examples of colored glass represented. We collect enough other things, and really don’t need to add anything else. I sure there are some of you out there nodding your head in agreement right now. We enjoy going to some insulator shows because Hemingray was a large producer of them. Colleen has a soft spot in her heart for Hemingray jars and refrigerator bottles, and we can usually find some of that at these shows. We were somewhat successful on this trip.
We just returned from the Shupp’s Grove Summer Bottle Fest in Pennsylvania. This is always a fun show, and we were able to visit with several of our friends while there. There was plenty to see there as well, and as usual we were able to find something that we “needed.”
Our club has its annual picnic on August 11. This will be held at our home again this year, and we would like to invite you to join us if you can. There will be plenty of food available.
Wishing good health and happiness to everyone.
Jerry Dixon
