President’s Message July 2026

Greetings fellow collectors,

As we reach the height of summer, I find myself reflecting on the true value of the community we have built here in the Midwest Antique Fruit Jar and Bottle Club.

This year has been a deeply challenging one for me personally, as I lost my mother earlier this spring. Because of this, I haven’t been as active in the club or the hobby as I would have liked to be. Navigating such a difficult time has naturally kept me distracted, and there have been days when the hobby that usually brings me so much joy had to take a backseat.

However, if there is one thing I have learned during these past few months, it is that the people in this hobby are simply the best. I have been truly overwhelmed and touched by the grace, patience, and kindness shown to me by so many of you. Whether it was a quick note, a check-in, or just your general understanding as I stepped back, your support has meant the world to me.

It is easy to focus on the jars, the glass, and the history, but at the end of the day, it is the friendships that matter most. I am profoundly grateful to have such a supportive, compassionate group of people in my corner.

Thank you for being more than just fellow collectors; thank you for being true friends. I am slowly finding my way back to the things I love, and I look forward to spending more time with all of you as we head into the second half of the year.

Matt
