Fall is Here, January Show Planning is Heating Up!

Hello fellow collectors!

Can you believe it? Fall is officially here, and with it comes that crisp air, beautiful colors, and the perfect excuse to spend a little extra time with our beloved glass. But more importantly, fall means we are just a few short months away from the highlight of our year: the Annual Midwest Antique Fruit Jar and Bottle Club Show in January!

If you haven’t already, now is absolutely the time to make your arrangements. Don’t delay—book your room, reserve your dealer table, and start coordinating with friends and fellow collectors to make plans for meet-ups, meals, and, of course, the hunt for that perfect piece of glass!

Show Agenda Update

We are working diligently behind the scenes to finalize all the details for the show. We are very close to finalizing the full schedule and agenda for the weekend’s events and hope to release all the details to the membership in early November. Keep an eye on your email and the club website for the official announcement!

The Thrill of the Hunt

As we move into the end of the year, take a moment to appreciate what makes this hobby so great. It’s more than just glass; it’s about holding a piece of history. Every jar and bottle tells a silent story of the past—from the ingenuity of early manufacturing to the simple, everyday lives of the families who once used them. Whether you’re a jar collector who marvels at the various sealing mechanisms and glass finishes, or a bottle enthusiast who appreciates the vibrant colors and detailed embossing, there’s always something new to discover.

It’s the thrill of the hunt—that moment when you pull a piece from a dusty box at a flea market, or spot a rare variant on a back shelf. It’s the satisfying weight of an early glass slug plate, the beautiful imperfections of a hand-blown finish, and the shared excitement when you find the “missing link” for your collection. Keep digging, keep learning, and keep sharing your finds!
I look forward to seeing all of you in January!

Matt
