Greetings Fellow Jar and Bottle Enthusiasts,
As summer begins to wind down and the cooler weather of autumn is approaching, I hope you all had a great season filled with fun and finding some amazing jars! The end of summer is a great time to reconnect with the club and get back into the swing of things.
We’ve got some great opportunities coming up, so I encourage you all to get involved. Our virtual show-and-tell meetings are a great way to stay connected, show off your latest finds, and learn from others in the hobby. All are welcome to join, and it’s a fantastic chance to see what fellow collectors are excited about. Be sure to keep an eye on your email or check the club’s Facebook page for the dates, times, and information on how to join these meetings.
Looking ahead, mark your calendars for October 11th for the Cambridge City Jar Show, hosted by our very own longtime club member, Marty Troxel. It’s always a wonderful opportunity to connect with old friends and make new ones.
Our club is truly special because of each and every one of you. The knowledge, passion, and camaraderie within our membership are what make the Midwest Antique Fruit Jar and Bottle Club such a great community. We are all bound by a shared love for these pieces of history and the stories they tell. The jar collecting community as a whole is filled with some of the most generous and kind people you will ever meet, and I am proud to be a part of it.
If you’re feeling inspired and would like to contribute, we’d love to hear from you. We are always looking for new content for our newsletter, and we invite anyone who is interested in writing an article to reach out. Additionally, if you have an idea for a presentation at our annual conference, want to put together an educational display the show, or have a unique idea to promote the hobby, please let us know. Your ideas and participation are what keep our club vibrant and growing.
Thank you all for being such a wonderful part of this club. Let’s make this autumn a great one for collecting and connecting!
Matt
