President’s Message September 2026

Dear Club Members,

As we transition into the crisp days of September, we are reminded of the changing seasons and the enduring strength of our collecting community. Unfortunately, last month we also bear the heavy burden of saying goodbye to a dear friend and foundational pillar of our club.
It is with profound sadness that I share the passing of our beloved club member, Colleen Dixon, who left us on August 14.

Colleen was a long-time, devoted member of both the Midwest Antique Fruit Jar and Bottle Club and the Jelly Jammers. Even as she faced various health struggles over the years, her dedication never wavered. Colleen remained remarkably active, engaged, and present in the community she loved so much.

On a personal note, I will never forget my very first club meeting. Jerry Dixon was serving as Club President at the time, and the gathering was our Annual Club Picnic, graciously hosted right at Jerry and Colleen’s home. Walking into a new club can sometimes be intimidating, but Jerry and Colleen went out of their way to make both Tonya and I feel instantly welcome, embraced by the warmth and hospitality that defined their lives.

Colleen’s spirit, kindness, and passion for our shared hobby will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Our hearts, thoughts, and deepest sympathies go out to Jerry.

May we keep Colleen’s memory alive in our stories, our collections, and the welcoming spirit we extend to every new face that walks into our club.

Matt Andrick
