Grateful for Glass and Friends
Hello everyone!
November is here, bringing a wonderful season of gratitude, family gatherings, and, of course, a little time for reflecting on our favorite hobby. It’s truly amazing that we’re already closing out the year. With the holidays quickly approaching, I want to wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
The Best Part of the Collection: The People
While we all love the stunning colors, the history of an early jar, or the satisfaction of a correct closure, we all know the greatest treasure this hobby offers is the people we meet along the way.
Think about it: who else truly understands the excitement of finding a jar with a slight manufacturing error, or the significance of a specific embossing variant?
This shared passion for history and preservation forges connections that last decades. We meet friends at shows, share knowledge at club meetings, and trade stories (and glass!) over a good meal. Collecting antique fruit jars and bottles is a passport to a wonderful community—one filled with friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming folks who are always ready to share a piece of history or help you identify that mystery you dug up.
As you spend time with family this Thanksgiving, remember the wider family we have in the club. It’s your enthusiasm that makes this hobby vibrant and our club strong.
